Well then, there’s no escaping the fact this Vibemail is rather #LinkHeavy. If you don’t like links and prefer my longer form #musings and #WisdomOnTheFly then I beg you to hold your nose and at least read about the first link, as it is very important to me!

PRESENT!
THE TCS LONDON MARATHON 2026
I’ve just come back from a 23km run. Yes me! Johnny JR! Former Chief Constable of the Lash Police! Prior downer of pints and sobber-at-bars! Whilst an element of this is to undo some of the damage alcohol has wrought on my dopamine receptors / obtain prescriptions from the internal chemist and to give me a #SenseOfAchievement, I also want to use my new habit for good. So next year I will be running the TCS London Marathon for Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse.
I was in a lot of pain whilst running today, but also enjoying the freedom to do what I want and feel good in my body. Many hundreds of thousands of women and children, and some men too, do not have the luxury of doing what they dream of, or ending their pain by something as simple as stopping running and having a nice bath, because they live with the scourge of domestic abuse in all it’s many forms. I think of them often when running and will be thinking of them over the 26.2 miles / 42.195 km / c. 42,000 steps of my first marathon.
So it would be a great honour, if you have money to spend and the freedom to spend it as you chose, if you might sponsor me. Here is my JustGiving page
https://www.justgiving.com/page/johnrobins
I have set the rather ambitious target of £42,000 - one pound for every step. That way, when I am struggling with my personal Pain Cave, I can simply count my steps to focus on the enormous difference your donations will make to the lives of people who, let’s face it, live in hell. If I don’t reach this target all the money still goes to STADA, it just makes the maths of the run a bit more complicated!
You can find out more about STADA HERE
Thank you so much.
PALLADIUM AND OTHER SHOWS
Elis and I are really enjoying our tour, and every time we leave Elis says to himself “everyone who came tonight had a really great time” as a way of getting on top of his nerves and self-doubt, which is incredibly sweet and true!
We have been offered a date at The London Palladium and obviously said yes, pushing fears of hubris and empty seats to one side in order to experience such a historic venue. It’s on 21st October and will be the last date of the tour. Tickets are below!

The remaining tour shows with tickets left are
Other shows will have holds released around two days before when Elis and my friends send texts to say they can’t be arsed to come.
Thirst: Twelve Drinks That Changed My Life
My book is still available to pre order, and due to your diligence and kindness in answering my call to pre-ordering action, has produced sales figures which have caught the attention of a few publishing #BigHitters. This is hugely helpful in getting it stocked in more shops, placed on tables, promoted on websites and all manner of things that will help people to find out about what I hope will be a very helpful read.
If you are inclined to reserve your copy and haven’t yet done so, links to Waterstones and Amazon are here
If you see any books on Amazon which feature a clearly AI created image, title and synopsis of a book pertaining to be written by me, plot twist: they ain’t. The only book I have written over the last two years is called Thirst and has a picture of me swigging from a can of Harp in 1986 on the front. Like this!
ROBINS RECS
Two comedy Recs for you today!
Josie Long’s tour of her acclaimed show Now Is The Time Of Monsters. I cannot wait to see this show! Josie is one of the comedians who has had the most influence on me. Her warmth, passion and sublime writing always leaves me in awe of how good stand-up can be. You can find tickets to her show at
TVs Mr Handsome Luke McQueen is playing The Soho Theatre in London with his show Comedian’s Comedian. All I know of Luke, and all I have heard about this show tell me it is UNMISSABLE GOLD. He’s a rare thing indeed - a unique comic voice. I do so hope it will tour more widely. Tickets are here

That is all for today. So sorry for all the links.
I LOVE YOU

I was at the your show in York - it was superb. Obviously I’ve ordered the book and will donate. John, you’re winning! So many wins!
Saw you guys in Bristol and loved every minute of it, genuinely. And I gotta say - the podcast the other day where you were all at home, with Dave's alarm going off, and Coldplay-gate is one of the funniest pods for a while (and it's a high bar). Was superb.
Have donated, and preordered. Good luck with both!
