Hello from the first day of summer sun! I do hope the extra hour of light is coursing through your skin and veins and VIBE just as it is mine. Despite having spent five hours in a Kia Sportage in order to carry out various Mother’s Day obligations I shall be taking my aching hips and tight calves for a walk ASAP to get some Vitamin B down the old gullet.
This is a short Vibemail to focus on one specific string currently twanging away on the Robins bow, so do forgive the lack of usual pleasantries. I need to alert you to a podcast and then GET THE HELL OUTSIDE.
How Do You Cope? Ft. Amanda Knox
The seventh instalment of How Do You Cope? drops today. I am so pleased with how the show is being received. So far I have spoken to Justin Hawkins, Jordan Stephens, Sophie Willan, Tuppence Middleton, Matt Forde and Joe Wix. Each of these conversations, covering everything from drug addiction, childhood trauma, growing up in care, OCD, ADHD and cancer (there are cheerier moments than you may currently be thinking!) are now available wherever you get your podcasts! Various links to Apple and Spotify are available here https://podfollow.com/how-do-you-cope/view
The reason I am emailing you today is not just to remind you of the new incarnation of this podcast, but to give you a heads up about today’s episode in which I interview Amanda Knox. Here is a little clip
I am highlighting this episode especially for an, I hope rare, moment of self-trumpetising. I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever made. Amanda’s story is an enormously troubling one, and one I was very nervous of speaking to her about. She has faced appalling prejudice, misogyny and injustice in her life, and I was extremely conscious of not exposing her to more of the same whilst also aware that her traumatic experiences began when someone else, Meredith Kercher, underwent the ultimate trauma after she was assaulted and murdered by Rudy Guede.
However, the resulting conversation, entirely down to Amanda’s remarkable ability to articulate her experience in a way that is wise, humane and incredibly *helpful*, is an artefact of which I am very proud. I do hope you enjoy it too.
The Telegraph reviewed the episode and I was moved by how generous it was. I would like to share a link to that review. For those who have a subscription to The Telegraph you can read it here https://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/0/radio-column1/ and for those of you without one here is an archive link which I have no idea of the legality of sharing so will abide by the motto of wilful ignorance “ask forgiveness not permission” https://archive.ph/o664O
If you find any of these podcasts useful as you traverse the less sunny moments of life then please do leave a positive review, it helps with various algorithms I don’t understand recommending it to other people.

Some mornings are just rubbish....and then, John sends a vibemail ✨️
Thankyou for the VIBES John.
Been feeling uber crap after losing my dog (some of us love them!) & then my front tooth in a very unspooky failed dental implant procedure. Not the best news for a sign language interpreter- I defo need my front tooth!
Then the vibe mail arrives!!! Must drag myself out of bed! Running might be difficult- same creaky hips after not exercising for a couple of weeks but driving to a north Wales beach on the Llyn for a saaad walk is definitely possible 😊
The HDYC podcast is the perfect self help spiritual medicine - Diolch o galon/heartfelt thanks 🙏 I’ll listen on the way! I’ve loved every one of them!! Meatloaf & Justin Hawkins & Sophie’s amazing positivity! X
BDCOTM has also helped my sad head too 😊 & then obviously we all have our brave little soldiers (Bois Bach) twice a week! You guys have been the soundtrack to my life for years now & I love your work dearly.
See you in Llandudno (front row) where I’m presuming I’ll be alone if ticket sales don’t increase 🤣🤣 (I’ll just Cymru Connect with Elis if it’s that bad!)
Thanks again for all your work on this show! It’s an extendable, back of the net dealbreaker! I’ll leave a review asap to ensure you get a second series!
❤️✌️
