Dear John. Big fan of your adventures in floral fashion. I’m not a big coffee person but I can recommend gardening. A big thing that helps me see progress where life can sometimes hide it - is in seeds.

People can make gardening very complicated but if you get a packet of cornflower seeds some compost and a pot you can watch their resilience and beauty as the grow. And once they’ve done their thing cut them down and they bloom again.

Even when life prunes you down to your stalk just remember you have roots and will grow again. A lot of the time far stronger and with more of a flourish than the previous season.

Sometimes, a small in-car breakdown is very therapeutic. I had one once in my old talbot samba and felt very much better afterwards.

Johnny Jr! Letting you know that you have brought me so many laughs over the years with your stand up and your shows with Elis. The 5 live podcast makes navigating through the San Diego traffic every Friday bearable! It is always a pleasure to see the Vibe mail appear in my inbox. Have a wonderful Edinburgh and tour. Thank you for being so forthcoming will all you have been going through. Looking forward to your as yet unannounced San Diego date 😉

Thanks John.

I'm sure you're aware not to have too much coffee as it can increase anxiety and affect sleep. Maybe throw in some decaff sometimes, especially after about 4pm.

Thanks for the laughs and sharing the ups and downs of life.

Thank you John. Just thank you. You’ve provided years of joy, happiness and tears to me. All strength and love to you navigating this rough ride you’re on. (I’ve never eaten a ploughman’s, and thankfully I’m on email as I had to verify my account to write this)

When coffee's allure dwindles, you might like to try our old friend, cacao. Less caffeine, but equal potential for nitpicking and obsession. Cheers. 😊☕

And do give us more floral shirt action. Victor sierra!

John - that shirt really works. Not being Tan from Queer Eye, I can't really say why, but it looks good man! Love and strength to you, especially at the moment. When I was having a particularly rubbish time of it a few years ago, listening to you and Elis was one of the few things I could bear doing. I had a breakdown at Baldock services on the A1 (not a sex shop, but not exactly Tebay either), and I'm pretty sure I listened you both to help me calm down. The fact that you could make me laugh when I felt so awful gave me genuine hope that all was not lost. You are still my go to podcast for the difficult times. Very much looking forward to seeing you live for the very first time in September. Will the floral shirt make a reappearance on the tour, or is it only for corporate golf events? We can but hope....

John, great vibemail, good to see you back.

I've been an avid listener to all your and Elis' 5 Live broadcasting and greatly admire your warmth, candour and vulnerability. Thank you (and Elis and Dave), for being there when I need a bit of laughter and stability. Good luck with your continued journey of self-improvement, you're going a stellar job thus far.

I'd like to share some words a good friend sent to me at a difficult time in my life. Hopefully, they will resonate...

"If you can't fly, then run

If you can't run, then walk

If you can't walk, then crawl

But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward" Martin Luther King Jr.

Looking forward to seeing you in Belfast!

Never had a ploughman's (but it's now on my bucket list), electric toothbrush, no one worth voting for, salt and vinegar on the chips 😀

Thank you John. For all that you do and share with us over the medium of radio, podcasts, comedy, and the written word.

It is so good to sit and listen to you (and Elis, and Dave) every week on 5live.

Love the shirt. Love the look of excitement and joy on your face from the woodwork mastery you have clearly just witnessed… or excitedly about to.

Agree with the gardening recommendation. I am currently learning how to garden in the Southern Hemisphere after my formative years spent in the north. It’s July and it’s effing freezing in NZ.

Anywho. Thank you. Take care out there.

Love the floral look on you, John! I do adore every single vibemail. When I see it pop up in my inbox, it's such a gift! So thank you for that, because I'm also no stranger to a mental collapse now and then. Be well friend! [imagine heart emoji here]

If you enjoy your new coffee craze and don't have any side effects, then just go for it. I have gone down the V60 route and it's bliss. I'm sure Elis has given you more advice than you wanted on the magic of the V60. Then of course there is the matter which coffee beans are to your liking. In fact I have opened up a spreadsheet to keep track of my preferences. I'm having fun.

"Are you on email?" Yes I am, so it's always lovely to receive a vibemail. I think you're doing just fine living inside your head. If I was in charge of it, you'd get a lot less done, and certainly be less popular than your noble self currently is. We love you Johnny JR! Onwards and upwards.
