It has been one month since I released Howl into the wild and I wanted to say how blown away I was to receive so many kind messages about the show. I’m delighted that it has resonated, moved and raised the odd laugh. I feel like a big project has come to an end, and my final abiding memory of it will be the be-gladdening feedback from you all! This means a huge amount.
It was released on Bandcamp Friday and Bandcamp’s share was passed on to the wonderful people at Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse. As luck would have it, today is another Bandcamp Friday! So if you have an intention of buying Howl but haven’t yet got round to it then I encourage you to buy it today (Friday 4th October) and I will pass on Bandcamp’s share to another charity I think do wonderful work called Give Directly. I don’t know if I’m allowed to tell you this but…
Elis and I…..AND DAVE will be touring next autumn! Yes your very best audio pals will be live and unleashed and coming to a venue near you! (Or frustratingly far from you if you live outside of major UK cities). Dates are being finalised and very soon the time will come for me to stress over on sale dates, pre-sale dates, links and fonts. But also the more relaxing chinwags with Giles about car hire and routing. So no instructions yet, just something to whet (wet?) your whistle.
No doubt subscribers to this Vibemail will get news sooner than most, if not all, so spread the word!
Any Other Business
Hmmm, not sure really. I’ve done four cross fit classes in the last four days and despite setting a NEW FRONT SQUAT PB i’m pretty sure I will struggle to stand up after sitting down for half an hour to write this. So wish me luck!
Obviously news of my success in the annual Murray Cup Golf tournament is spreading across the golfing world. Most experts agree that a matchplay record of 20-2-2 is unrivalled in the history of the game. Here is a picture of me on a nature walk I went on by the course whilst the others dealt with their hangovers
My book continues being written at a frustratingly inconsistent pace. I’m very much like Sherlock Holmes when it comes to writing, ten days of nothing and then 18 hours of pure action. Minus the cocaine of course!
Like others who’s mortgage deal is coming to an end I’m googling interest rates A LOT. In fact I’m thinking of doing Bank Of England Away should anyone want tickets for the next meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee? We can hire a mini bus, get half and half doves and hawks scarves, get some chants going as they vote etc etc. You in?
An old friend of a podcast might be making a return soon. But genuinely can’t say more on that yet. And…um…
